JMPD 10.0 helps you enjoy Japanese manga firsthand in Japanese.
Those onomatopoeic words make your spoken Japanese lively, and certainly Japanese manga and animation come alive; zokuzoku sasemasu. Besides onomatopoeia, many phrases which you read are unique to manga, where short and cryptic language is used.
You may need to read a Manga with a dictionary in one hand at the beginning but soon get used to uttered incomplete words, slang and dialect. When you do, you'll see and come to appreciate those dynamics and freedom of your own interpretation, because authors have done the job of wrecking their brains to compress the emotion into the limited space of bubbles.
Japanese is a 'receiver-responsible language.' Japanese leaves interpretation up to the listener. When you study Japanese, you'll notice that there are a lot of omissions. For example, Japanese people only use verbs when they converse with each other, saying things like, 'Mita? (Did you see it)?' 'Un, mita! (Yeah, I saw it!) ' - Professor Jeff Berglund, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies.
My knowledge of Japanese language allows me to watch Japanese animes in original form. The profound feeling engulfs me when I encounter masterpieces, where the imagination of director is only the limit. Those masterpieces are, unfortunately to those overseas Japanese anime lovers, necessarily neither famous nor popular, and hence many will be very unlikely translated into other languages.
The onomatopoeias and phrases are listed in a dictionary style based on Japanese Alphabet. The sub-pages of an alphabet are linked together and listed at the bottom of each page. We hope you come to appreciate the style we chose, a dozen entries per page instead of one; many authors spell those uttered words in the similar but varied ways to maximize the effect.

Even though kanji which is read by more than 1.5 billion people and famous onomatopoeia are treated exceptionally, the other unique expressions in manga such as slang, Kansai dialect, women's form of talks, archaic words and more might leave you puzzled.
Masahiro Ono, the author of the onomatopoeia dictionary, says, "It expresses physical sensations," and "Pictures and onomatopoeia go well together." I believe that these unique expressions are used to augment manga more attractive, as onomatopoeia that is not onomatopoeia.
Even a superb translator is ultimately a reader, a distillatory. Borrowing the words of Mark Twain, "Ideally, a book would have no order to it, and the reader would have to discover his own."

To open a page in the dictionary - Click an aiueo character in an alphabet section table, click a linked list at bottom of a dictionary page, or click + / − in the panel shown at the bottom of screen.
≡ - Focus on an alphabet section table or display a side box containing an alphabet section table.
− - Open the previous page or open the first page of previous alphabet if at a boundary.
あ00 - Current page indicator.
+ - Open the next page or open the first page of next alphabet if at a boundary.
Subpage - Display subpage links. It builds a vertical list from the link list normally contained at the bottom of dictionary page. The subpages continue the top page opened by the use of AIUEO alphabet table of the dictionary.
Bmk - Set a bookmark on the current page and turn on the bookmarker light. The light remains on across the sessions. The click of button, while lighted, opens the bookmarked page and delete the bookmark; to delete a bookmark, click the lighted button.
Mgc - Some collections of Manga cards from the dictionary. Test your learning or play 4 koma skits. The translation of bubbles will be shown in the Layer 1 of Bokensha Dungeon, which is coming.
♕ 000 - Personal Dungeon credit point meter. The points are earned by the use of various facilities and pages. When the value reaches a certain level, the user will be invited to the use of Member Visit Gate. Its use accelerates the point rate. The point is also checked for the use of Bokensha Dungeon Gate.
